1928

A record profit of HK$684,879 was achieved. There were now six Dairy Farm retail stores, and the Company serviced Macau and several cities in China through its subsidiaries and affiliates.

1946

The Company broke the million dollar mark with a record net profit of HK$1,519,292. The future looked bright with rising consumer demand in this first post-war year as Hong Kong people started to enjoy the normal essentials of life again.

1957

By now Dairy Farm had three retail stores and was beginning to expand its product range, marking the start of its transformation into a major food retailer and distributor.

1964

The Company acquired the Wellcome grocery chain, expanding its food retailing business and making significant inroads into the local Chinese market in Hong Kong.

1972

Dairy Farm was acquired by Hongkong Land, in a deal that allowed the company to retain its independence and individual personality.

1976

At this time, the Company had expanded to 19 supermarkets on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon.

1979

The Company acquired the 75-store Franklins "No Frills" chain in Australia which had a turnover of A$100 million.
